PLANS & BUYING GUIDE

Affordable AI interview software, for the time you need.

Looking for cheap interview software for your own interview preparation? Interview Roo offers a $5 one-day pass, a $20 monthly subscription, and a $99 annual subscription in USD. Choose by the time you need, the workflow you will use, and the total charge—not just a monthly equivalent.

What does Interview Roo cost?

Interview Roo costs $5 for a one-day pass, $20 per month, or $99 per year. The day pass does not renew automatically. Monthly and annual subscriptions renew until canceled. Usage limits apply; review the plan and payment details before purchasing.

Day pass$5One day; no automatic renewalYou need one day of preparation.
Monthly$20Renews monthly until canceledYou want flexibility for a month of practice.
Annual$99Renews annually until canceledYou expect to use the workspace across the year.

The annual plan is equivalent to $8.25 per month, but the charge is $99 for the year, not $8.25 billed monthly. Check the current plans and billing terms before deciding.

How do you choose a low-cost interview assistant?

Start with the task you need to practice. Screenshot questions, spoken follow-ups, and reviewing saved explanations are different tasks. A low price is useful only if the product supports the task on your computer.

  1. Check your device. The current public Roo download is for Apple silicon Macs running macOS 14 or later.
  2. Check the complete problem. Preview screenshots and include the constraints and starter code.
  3. Check the explanation. Read the solution approach, test an edge case, and ask a follow-up before relying on generated code.
  4. Check the payment. Compare the amount charged now, renewal interval, usage limits, and cancellation terms.

Comparing InterviewMan, Interview Coder, or another assistant?

If you are considering an InterviewMan alternative or an Interview Coder alternative on a budget, compare the actual plan and the workflow you need. A day pass, a recurring month, and an annual commitment are different purchases. Confirm each provider’s current price and billing terms directly.

Open the official InterviewMan website or Interview Coder website alongside Roo’s plans. Write down the charge, billing period, supported device, and the feature you want to test. This guide does not claim that Roo is cheaper than every competing plan, or that the products have identical features.

For a workflow-based checklist, see our existing Interview Coder comparison. Test an explanation with a duplicate-value or empty-input case rather than judging only the appearance of an answer.

Can you practice without paying first?

The free Big O practice tool works in your browser without an account. It gives explanations for six prepared examples. It is not a free trial of the Mac app and does not analyze arbitrary code with AI.

Use the 45-minute coding interview practice plan to rehearse clarifying a problem, explaining a baseline, improving a solution, and reviewing an edge case.

What should you check before using AI assistance?

Generated answers and speaker labels can be wrong. Verify the transcript, constraints, code, and complexity. Microphone and screen or system-audio capture need the appropriate Mac permissions. No price or plan guarantees invisibility to a meeting app or recorder.

For a live interview or assessment, use capture, transcription, and AI assistance only when its rules allow them. Choose a plan for a permitted workflow you have checked on your own device.
